In preparation for the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, the BCCI selection committee has finalized a high-intensity training camp in Bengaluru for the 30-member probables squad.
The squad, heavily featuring standout young performers from the domestic season and the IPL, will undergo rigorous physical conditioning and skill assessment under the supervision of National Cricket Academy (NCA) coaches. Given that the main national squad will be focused on ICC fixtures, this second-string team represents India's incredible depth and the next generation of international players.
Focus on Young Prospects
Among the notable inclusions is the young prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, whose explosive performances at the under-19 and state level have earned him a spot in the core training camp. Selectors are keen to analyze how these young players adapt to specific roles, especially in terms of high-pressure finishing and spin-bowling variations which are expected to be vital on Japanese pitches.
"This camp is designed to align these young players with our aggressive national team philosophy. We want them ready to step up to international cricket." — NCA Coaching Director
The training camp is set to begin next week, and the final 15-member traveling squad will be announced shortly after its conclusion.
