PBKS has historically struggled to maintain a consistent coaching panel, which has often affected their player retention strategies and squad chemistry. The management is reportedly looking for a head coach with substantial experience in nurturing young Indian talent and building long-term squads. The board is also considering restructuring their scouting network to focus more on performances in Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare trophies.
Mega Auction Planning
With the upcoming mega auction offering a clean slate, Punjab Kings want to avoid their previous mistake of buying short-term fixes. They are aiming to retain only a select few domestic players who represent the identity of Punjab's aggressive cricket. They will then look to bid heavily on established all-rounders who can provide stability in both departments.
