Sunrisers Hyderabad's ultra-aggressive powerplay strategy has redefined batting boundaries. We evaluate captain Pat Cummins' attack-first blueprint and where it hit a wall in Chandigarh.

SRH has been the most explosive batting unit in IPL 2026, launching historic powerplay scores early in the season. Under Cummins' guidance, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were given complete freedom to attack the new ball. However, the slow pitch in Chandigarh exposed the lack of a stabilizing middle-order anchor when early wickets fell in the Eliminator.

The Strategic Review

"Our philosophy remains positive; we want to play aggressive cricket," commented Cummins. "We will not change our style, but we need to adapt to two-paced wickets better in the playoffs next cycle."

"Attack is our best defense. We will continue to push the boundaries of T20 batting." — Travis Head

The Orange Army will look to refine their tactical balance ahead of next season.
